Sofia Tolis, born and settled in Stockholm, has a master's degree in Fine Arts from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design and has also attended Biskops Arnö's Writing School. As the daughter of a Swedish mother and a Greek father, her artistic and literary world has often had a large space of places to stay in, and find her sustenance from. She uses language as well as image and sculpture in her way of expressing herself. Tolis has had several solo exhibitions and participated in a lot of group exhibitions in Sweden and internationally. She has also had a large number of published texts in anthologies, literary magazines and cultural magazines, beginning in 1992 in Ordfront magazine with the short prose text Four Empty Chairs.
